DON DESIGN X UNIVERSITY OF SALFORD

📚 The Brief

I was invited to live illustrate a set of visual minutes at the University of Salford’s Learning & Teaching Strategy Day — capturing key moments and ideas from a series of presentations and breakout sessions led by faculty and leadership.

🧠 The Solution

I created two landscape illustrations that reflect the energy of the day — from collaborative discussions to the dynamic roles of staff involved. Alongside these, two portrait illustrations served as visual metaphors, representing deeper themes like the importance of role clarity in teaching.

✏️ The Process

I sketched in real time during the event, using pencil to capture ideas quickly and organically. Afterwards, I refined the line work with pen and ink, then scanned and digitally coloured each piece in Photoshop — bringing the illustrations to life while maintaining the essence of the live moment.
